Dog dandruff is an unsightly condition afflicting many dogs. This condition can be quite uncomfortable to your dog as the itching drives the dogs crazy! Eliminating dandruff can be done easily with 1st Impressions Shampoo.
Skin, your dog's largest organ, is constantly replenishing itself, and in doing so some flaky skin will appear on your dog's dark shiny coat. Compounding the problem is a tendency in some dogs, through nervous or stressful situations, to "shed" additional amounts of surface skin. There may also be "surface scum" which is dirt or residue left from the previous shampoo and conditioner. The end result is dog dandruff.
Many breeds (such as Rottweilers and Dobermans) are not bathed and shown on the same day because the shampoo and conditioner do an incomplete job and the dandruff persists. Therefore, the dog washed one or two days prior to the show, is still carrying dirt molecules, which dull the coat.
In a container add approximately 3/4 cup of 1st In-Line 1st Impression Deep Cleansing Shampoo to 1 gallon of water. Thoroughly wet your dog and wash using a sponge or other means to apply shampoo. Rinse! Repeat the above steps for deep cleaning of the skin while brightening and whitening of the coat by leaving the shampoo on 3 to 5 minutes. You'll note an increased amount of lather because most of the surface dirt, oil and scum was removed after the first rinse. 1st In-Line Products will not dry out or damage your animal's coat due to the protective ingredients that are included in our shampoo. But it is show time and you want show clean!
"The Tip"
When washing a short coated dog, use a Boar Bristle brush, brushing back against the grain of the coat and working the lather down to the skin. This will help loosen and eliminate most flakiness. Our additives including Guar and Chamomile help restore and enhance the coats' natural shine while soothing and softening the skin.
Well, time's runnin' late and you've got a dog to show.
The following procedure should help remove any yellow tinge or stain and leave your animal's coat bright and white. This same procedure will also serve to heighten the contrast for colored coats as well.
This tip is based on reapplying a fine layer of 1st Satin Conditioner to the dog's coat to eliminate staining and yellowing. This procedure can also prevent the staining agents, from the environment, from getting through to the animal's coat.
To minimize staining, mix 1st Satin Conditioner at a 10 to 1 ratio and apply liberally throughout entire hindquarters including legs and tail. Do not rinse. And apply one to two days prior to whelping.
After delivery and celebration, shampoo with 1st Impression Shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Shampoo again for additional cleaning and rinse, then re apply conditioner at 20 to 1 ratio. This can be either rinsed out or left in.
1st Snow White Whitening Spray was developed specifically to enhance the true white color of the coat and yet also will increase the depth and contrast on two color and multicolored coats without fading the color. This is done without the use of bleach or bluing thus eliminating the fear of drying or damaging the hair.
Used as directed this advanced formula spray will help eliminate yellowing and staining from the animal's coat and will restore it to a brilliant natural color.
Directions:
For the best results for whitening those troubled areas, we recommend, that the animal be damp. Spray 1st Snow White on the areas you wish to whiten and brighten, making it very wet, then brush in thoroughly using a forward and backward motion. This will insure you are not only coating the hair on the top but, also on the bottom of the hair, throughout the entire coat. This will give the coat color a more uniform appearance. Let stand for at least 5 minutes (do not rinse out) and then blow dry.
Caution
To avoid eyestrain the freshly groomed animal is best viewed with sunglasses!!!!
